3 Ways to Learn a New Language
Whether it’s for personal or professional reasons, learning a new language will always be an advantage. Adopting a new language, however, is an understandably daunting task for most people. In this mini-blog, we’ve listed down the top ways that can help you pick up a new language:
1) Immersion
-If the Brain is like a sponge, it is important to immerse yourself with the language that you want to adopt. Which means a lot of consuming of its media: whether it’s in the form of text, visual or even audio. And to make the immersion more fun, you can even adapt this to your interest/lifestyle. For e.g. Read a book, listen to a podcast or watch TV shows in the language of your interest. Or immerse yourself in a community that shares your interest but speaks in a different language.
2) Flash Cards
-Visual learning has a tendency to stick hard in one’s memory and flash cards do just that by associating a picture with a word. And to avoid feeling bored or repetitive, consider using the Spaced Repetition System (SRS).
3) Find a Language Buddy
-With a companion, it creates a perfect outlet to practice and receive feedback. This shared experience will also make this huge undertaking feel less lonely and motivates you to keep going.
